Why Seattle runs above average

Animal caretakers in the Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue area earned a median $21.19 an hour in May 2025, compared with $17.00 nationally. (BLS) Walkers also price in parking and drive time between clients.

What changes the price

  1. Solo or group. A private walk costs more than a slot in a group.
  2. Length. Confirm whether 30 minutes means door to door or time outside.
  3. Extras. Feeding, medication, towel-drying a muddy dog, or a second dog in the house.
  4. Timing. Weekends, holidays and same-day requests often carry a surcharge. Ask for the list.
