Washington requires dog, cat and ferret owners to keep rabies vaccination current (Washington Department of Health). Expect a groomer to ask for proof at the first visit.
Ask when you book
- Is there an extra charge for matted coats, and will they shave rather than dematt?
- How long will your dog be there, and is it crated between steps?
- Mobile vans: do they need your water or power, and where do they park?
- Do they groom cats or anxious dogs, and do they ever use sedation? (Most salons do not.)
